Dragon Age: Origins

Anyone else thinking about getting this? Made by the people who did Mass Effect. Looks very decent.

From the video's and such it looks like Oblivion but with more of an engaging storyline, and it has the karma system of Mass Effect but on a much more important scale, so if you go around stabbing people depending on who that person was it will have a direct effect on the storyline.

Apparently there's 80 hours of gameplay, add that as a "good" playthrough and a "bad" playthrough and I see there being some nice value in this game. The customization looks pretty good. Like Oblivion but with many more options and no monkey faced people.

So, anyone else have any thoughts or interest in this one?

I'm on the fence with this one. If I were to get it, it'd be for the pc, and I don't know if I could run it. Maybe if I hit a lull in my gaming schedule, which I doubt, what with uncharted 2 until assassins creed II, I may get it.

Ya I have looked up the specs, but I could probably play most games on minimum theoretically, while not actually working when I try em.

Indeed, most games don't worth playing in minimum. It's always good to aim the Recommended requirements.

I wish I had time to game

It sucks you've only got time to play 5 hours of gunz a day and spend half your day on gzfactor

I've seen the quick look on giantbomb and it seems ok. I absolutely loved Mass Effect when I got around to playing it, but the fighting seems more like an MMO this time. I'd like to try it out at some point. Either way, I'm pretty sure this will never beat Oblivion, seeing as I got that game on launch and I'm still playing now. Only games in my disk drives are seriously Morrowind and Oblivion, all day every day. I play other stuff on steam, though.

Anyway, if they have a demo I might check it out.

If you do find a demo, hit me up with it so I can see if it runs on my laptop.

Yeah I highly doubt it will be as good as Oblivion, I still haven't beat it but that's because I never got around to doing the storyline I've probably done every single side quest in the entire game though.

I just hope there's more fighting in this one then in Mass Effect because 40% of that game was the dialog options. I understand that's one of the main playing parts of the game, but with a game that there's not a lot of choices on combat it really seemed like it limited the action. Not to mention the whole "go to a useless planet and drive around for a while" thing they had going on there.

I hated the combat system on Mass Effect, especially when playing through on Insanity, which I still have yet to do. I just pick it up every few weeks, play for about an hour and get annoyed by the ridiculously hard and tedious combat.
